WHAT THE ACADEMY OFFERS

Students in the program will choose two core academic courses in block A and Block B in the time table. Students will select one on-line course and the students in the program will earn a “sport co-op” credit each semester. This allows for a half day of more flexible time for ice time, clinics and small group academic support.

WHAT IS THE BIHA?

The Braves International Hockey Academy (BIHA) gives students from Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) the opportunity to bolster their skills in hockey while still accomplishing their academic goals. Student-athletes from grade 9 to 12 will be able to personalize their schedules so they can participate in hockey training during school hours.

Hockey, of all major sports, experienced the greatest transformation over the years. The way hockey players train parallels the evolutionary spirit of the game.

BIHA, the only academy endorsed by the CCHL and Hockey Canada, encompasses these changes by providing its players with progressive training on and off the ice. By creating an open, positive, and engaging environment, BIHA maximizes the development of each player who enters the rink.
